Strangeland by Jon Sopel

This is the original concept for Jon Sopel’s examination of post-Brexit Britain by the political correspondent. The rough cover idea on the left depicts the author as a static figure quietly observing while the political world whirls around him, represented by the blurred figures. We created this composition by Photoshopping the various elements together. The publisher used this as a holding cover until all the parties agreed on the direction. Once the cover idea was approved, a photographer captured the image, and we recomposed all the high-resolution images into a finished representation of the concept
